Birthday Plans!!

So, for my Birthday this year, we are having Bowl Game/Birthday party at our house! :) My birthday is the 11th and the bowl game is the 10th, so we thought it would be fun to combine them. We're going to have lots of yummy food and lots of fun!! Be looking for the evite in your email inbox soon!!!

Pretty sad...

Okay, so sometimes I get on Facebook..cause I kinda miss it..and that's how I see what everyone else is doing..haha! But sometimes its so depressing for to see what some of my friends are doing with their lives! We are not 20 anymore..we're getting real damn close to 30. So why do some people think its okay to party at the bar every weekend?! Even more disturbing is the ones that have kids, first of all..where are their kids and second, what are you teaching them? Now I've done my fair share of the bar scene, but that was in the past and I have decided to put my family first. There is nothing but trouble and drama at the Sweet Home bars, why do some think its sooo cool to be down there?! Idk, it just makes me sad that they are wasting their lives away and every minute they spend out partying is another minute their missing out on being with their kids and or family. They'll look back someday and really regret that.

It's raining, it's pouring...

Wow, just a little bit of rain we've been having!! We took a family walk around the property today and had to build bridges just to get over the creek each time . We got soaked, but all 5 of us had a blast!! Once we got back inside, Tay went down for a nap and me and the boys decided to make some cookies.

Are they done yet?!
The finished product

Oh and just to throw this out there...we are looking for a basketball hoop. Either on a stand or just the backboard that we can attach to the wall. I also am looking for a horse or pony. We want to get a little livestock as well, maybe a cow or two, sheep? goats? Cheap or free for all of the above too :)

Love these lyrics!

Absolutely no one that knows me better

No one that can make me feel sooo goooood

How did we stay so long together?

When everybody, everybody said we never would

And just when I, I start to think they're right

That love has died...

There you go making my heart beat again,

Heart beat again,

Heart beat again

There you go making me feel like a kid

Won't you do it and do it one time?

There you go pulling me right back in,

Right back in,

Right back in

And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

I'm stuck on you

Whutooo whutooo

Stuck like glue

You and me baby we're stuck like glue

Whutooo whutooo

Stuck like glue

You and me baby we're stuck like glue

Some days I don't feel like trying

Some days you know I wanna just give up

When it doesn't matter who's right, thought about it all night

Had enough

You give me that look

"I'm sorry baby let's make up"

You do that thing that makes me laugh

And just like that...

There you go making my heart beat again,

Heart beat again,

Heart beat again

There you go making me feel like a kid

Won't you do it and do it one time

There you go pulling me right back in,

Right back in,

Right back in

And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

I'm stuck on you

Whutooo whutooo

Stuck like glue

You and me baby we're stuck like glue

This song annoys the hell out of me..BUT I LOVE the lyrics!! :)

Life on the farm!

Taylor working with us in the fields!

So life has been busy now that we're all moved in. There is so much to do on such a big chunk of property, even with no animals out in the pastures. We usually walk the property fence line every day, its really fun for the kids and good exercise for Kenny and I. We broke down a beaver dam today, those suckers can do a lot of damage to trees and making the creek flood into the pastures.
I am now officially done with Fall term at lbcc. I am glad to be done with that! Homework and studying is not for me! LOL It's now time to focus on having some fun on the farm..oh maybe a little on work! Hehe
We ordered the boys Christmas presents (MP3 players) a few days ago, we have to find Taylor something and then get their stocking stuffers. I love that my family focuses on fun traditions and making memories, instead of Black Friday crap and "who gets the better presents" ect.
And of course I have to mention that the Ducks won the civil war. It was a very good game!!! But in the end, the better team won. I love how some Beaver fans still continue to trash talk the Ducks, its like they just can't admit that the Ducks are one hell of a football team. The Ducks will never get the credit they deserve. Oh well..I'm a Duck fan for life! Always have been, always will be!! :)
Hope everyone is enjoying the this holiday season!! Be looking for our Christmas card in the mail soon! :)

Breaking News!!

"BREAKING NEWS: OSU football practice was delayed after a player found a white powdery substance on the field. Coach Mike Riley suspended practice and called the police & investigators. After a complete analysis, forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE. Practice resumed after the agents ...decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again this season"

Evening walk around the property.

Lone oak tree in the top field

I finally got to walk to the entire 37 acres tonight! It was really fun and a great workout. We found a beaver dam, and we learned that Chewy is a awesome bird dog!! Just might have to get a grouse tag with that little guy..lol We got our Christmas tree today..its over 8 feet! The boys LOVED picking it out and decorating it. We had to hang everything up high so that Taylor can't pull them down! :)
Our tree

Gonna hang her on the tree :)

Update!!

So tomorrow is the big day! It's moving day!! We pick up our U-haul at 9:30am and then its go time. My grandma is taking the boys to see the movie "MegaMind" in the afternoon. We figured it would be a nice break for us and something fun for them. We are all very excited to get moved in!! Here are a few other things we've been doing since I blog last....

-I've decided to take a full time job at the truck shop and not go back to school next term.
-Kenny has decided not to ref for the boys and girls club this year, he is going to play city league basketball instead
-I had a girls night with 5 girls from a&w. We all met at one house and hung out for hours! We laughed until we cried and it was a blast!
-Taylor is sleeping better! We have had to cut all dairy out of her diet. Levi also was lactose intolerant until he was around 18 months, so I hope she also out grows hers too.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Yawn....

UGH..that sums up my week..

Taylor is still sleeping horrible and its KILLING me! The doctor can't get her in until Monday..so I still have some hell to go thru. We have tried everything with her and nothing seems to work, if you have any ideas, PLEASE let me know!

Her new haircut...just her bangs :)

Riley had had his check up on Monday and he is doing great! He is in the 95% for his height and weight. His BMI is on the healthy range, the doc says he's just going to be one BIG boy! He knew his colors and shapes and passed all of his 4 year old tests. He even got a new book, which he loved! He did have to get 2 shots, but he is now all done and both the boys don't need shots again until they are 11!! Phew!

Levi is doing awesome in school this year! We are so glad we decided to hold him back a year, it is proving to be a good choice. He is working on writing his first and last name, while the rest of the class is still working on writing their first names. Its been a good boost to his ego that he is doing so well, especially since he struggled so much last year.

We have a little over a week before we move..let the packing begin..(a lil late of a start, I know!) We are SO excited to get moved and settled into our new farm. We have some fun plans and great memories ahead!! :)

I'm Back..

Well I just got home from Arizona earlier this afternoon. It was a quick trip, but nice and relaxing. It was in the mid 80's during the day, perfect weather if you ask me! Kenny the kids survived while I was gone, although I think I was very much missed. I had good flights to and from AZ and I took a few pics of us flying into Portland today.

I have a very busy week ahead (shocking..I know). I've got school, some major catch up to do at the truck shop, 3 night shifts at the dub and a wedding Saturday. OH and Riley has a check up tomorrow annnnd he has shots :( Not going to be fun!

Happy Halloween!

Another Halloween has come and gone. We got up this morning and went and got some more pumpkins..I think that makes 14 we got this year! The boys love drawing faces on them so Kenny can carve them. We are going to try to plant a pumpkin patch at the ranch next year, then we can have as many pumpkins as we want! :) I worked this afternoon at A&W and we had to dress up..ugh! So I braided my hair in 2 braids, put some Oregon stickers under my eyes and threw on a football jersey. Wa-la..I'm dressed and totally sporting the best team around! Ha! :) Kenny and the kids picked me up after work and we headed to the Boys and Girls club trunk or treat. The kids got lots of candy..it was pretty busy! After that we headed to the Avenues and stayed out till it was way past dark. We have SO much candy now..enough to last us until next year that's for sure! I will post pics of the boys later.
I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner! Kenny and I were talking today about what we want to get the kids. I think we decided that we're going to get them a power wheels gator to use on the farm! They need something to get themselves around that place! lol We have to find something that will fit all 3 of them, so we shall see! I'm dying to get the boys some little dirt bikes, we have a perfect place for them to set up a little track...OH there is so much fun ahead!! :) We are AMAZINGLY blessed to given this awesome experience we are about to embark on!! We felt like we were down and out for a while there but since I have left Lowe's and started school, began the journey of bettering myself, things just keep getting better and better! I can't wait to see whats coming up!

Our Dogs :)

Our new dog "Jack" Frost

and this is our other dog "chewy"

Updates

Well the lactose free milk is a hit! Taylor slept SO much better last night! Poor lil girl has had a gut ache the last 3 weeks. Levi was on lactose free milk until he was 18 months old. So we'll probably try to regular milk when she gets to be about that age.
We turned off our cell phones a few days ago because I was tired of paying so much money for them. We got a land line and I thought all was well..nope! We had a few family members not too happy with us about our decision..so we are now getting the cell phones again..lol We jumped onto my moms plan and created a family plan. So now we will have basic cells for "safety" reasons and a land line. We have the same numbers on the cell phone, hopefully that will ease some of the confusion, since I already sent out a email saying we had shut off the cell phones..LOL
We also are getting a new bed!! We are so totally stoked about that! Its been a long time coming! We decided "new ranch life..new bed!" Kenny really needs a nice bed for his back, and I was starting to hurt from our mattress..which btw is like 20 years old!! So our new bed should be delivered about the time we move to the ranch..I can hardly wait! :)
We've started packing up the house again..not so fun! Good news is, a lot of our stuff is still in boxes and we reserved a U-haul for this move..so that will be SO much easier than using our durango. We had a walk through of the new house yesterday and Kenny got a tour of the ranch. We have some big jobs ahead of us but we also have some FUN times ahead! I am excited for the kids to have 37 acres to play on!

The new ranch

This a cabin that is on the ranch. It was built for the previous owners grand kids. It has bunk beds in it :)

Busy..and tired

Another eventful week in the Gaskey Family book! Here's a quick look...

-Taylor has not slept well since we switched her to whole milk, so we are now trying lactose free milk. I pray that it works cause I NEED SLEEP!!!

-I canceled all of this weeks soccer practices cause I was fed up with no one showing up. So our last game is Saturday and then we are all done..thank god!!

-We are set to move to the ranch November 20th, and then we are having a big Thanksgiving dinner there..hopefully we'll find all the dishes we need! Haha

-I fly out a week from today to sunny and warm Arizona. It's in the mid 80's there right now..be jealous! :)

-My grandparents are here from Arizona right now and today we are all meeting at the ranch to get some lessons on how to run the thing. 37 acres is a lot of land to keep up!

-I am have mid terms next week...arghhh! Cross your fingers I do well!

-Halloween is Sunday. The boys have their outfits..Levi is Iron man and Riley is either Bumble Bee or Optimus Prime. Taylor is going to be a Pumpkin Fairy..so cute!

That's all the news for now..or all that I can think of at this moment. Hope you are all well and have a safe and fun Halloween!

Fall is here!

Wow. We had some crazy weather today! Rain, wind, sunshine and it was really cold. Autumn is officially here! I love it too, I am so ready for cooler weather.

Levi had a soccer game on Saturday and the team played SO good! We only had 5 kids show up (out of 9) and they all played hard the whole game. Its tough playing a 50 minute game with no subs! We have 2 more practices and then our last game is on Saturday October 30th.

We got a new dog on Saturday after the game and he is a fitting in very well. He is a 2 year old pure breed Australian Sheppard. He is almost pure white with super light blue eyes. He is deaf because of his colors, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. He lives for Frisbee and fetch and can jump right around 6 feet in the air to catch his toys..its pretty amazing! The boys are totally in love with him!

Saturday night was girls night and we headed to Eugene for the Olive Garden. It was very yummy and we had a lot of laughs with our drinks and dinner. After dinner we headed to the mall to do some shopping..of course! :) I got a new camo and pink wallet and a few new shirts. We came home at a decent hour like good girls and we're already planning our next night out...tattoos!! :)

I worked today and it was a lazy day for the rest of the family. Tomorrow its back to the grind at school and the truck shop. Hope everyone has a great week!

mellow yellow

Things are starting to mellow out in my life and I very much enjoy that! I have learned how to juggle everything that is going on and how to spread myself among everything and everyone..but while still keeping my sanity! I am starting to change some things at the truck shop that will make my job there SO much easier! Soccer is wrapping up and although its been a challenge dealing with rude parents..overall its been a fun season, Levi has improved his skills and is quite the little soccer player now! He cant wait for next season! I am still at A&W 2 days a week and I secretly enjoy going to work..just to get away and have a little fun with my co-workers. The Ducks play on Thursday this week and its a "yellow out"! You can bet your bottom I will be wearing the brightest yellow I can find! The game is also going to be in 3-D, how cool is that!? Saturday we have a early soccer game (9:30am) and then its family day with Jody and the Breslaw family. Saturday night its girls night and we're heading to Eugene for some Olive Garden! Yum!

My soccer pro!

We had a game tonight and Levi did awesome and scored a goal! :) He is really enjoying playing soccer and we love watching him improve every game!

We didn't win but we don't focus on that..it's just about having fun and learning how to work as a team! :)

Just another chapter to this crazy thing we call life.

So I'm just gonna put this out there right off the bat....WE ARE MOVING AGAIN!! Wow, its a little painful saying that because we have moved and moved and moved again...something like 8 times since we've been married! (We've been married for 8 years) But the most painful thing about this move...is we just moved into this house 2 weeks ago! We are moving to a 37 acre farm out in Pleasant Valley, not too bad huh. We love the house we're in right now but we have family that just bought this ranch and asked us to live there and and care for the ranch until they move up here from out of state. They are "planning" on being here in about a year, which is bitter sweet cause that means we will be moving in another year. But this is my plan...I'm in school right now and should be done in 2 more terms, so about the time they move here, I'll have a new job and hopefully we will be in the position to buy our own house! :)

So enough about that..now about our awesome day. We got up this morning and headed to Monmouth for a pumpkin patch adventure. I found this farm on the Internet, so I was keeping my fingers crossed that it would be fun. It ended up being a blast!! They had slides, and mazes and tractor rides and of course lots and lots of pumpkins! We all picked out a pumpkin to bring home, Taylor got herself a little tiny, adorable one. We took the back roads home and enjoyed all of the beautiful colors of Fall.

We are now all snuggled in the living room watching football and day dreaming about our "new" ranch! :) Time to start looking for more boxes...again!

Fun Weekend Ahead!

Today is Friday! Everyone take a deep breath! Awww! It was another crazy week for the Gaskey clan.
We are officially moved into our new house and done with the old house! We love the area that we moved to. It is so peaceful out here and we have beautiful views. There are always a few deer in our yard in the evenings and we have a huge gray squirrel that steals our pears from the pear tree. Levi has 3 more soccer games and the season is over! (Thank god!) I am trucking along with school, its very challenging this term. But the most exciting news is that we are going to a pumpkin patch tomorrow. I found a really neat one out of town and I think the kids are going to have a blast! I will of course post pics on here of our fun family adventure!

The season for being Thankful...

It's so easy sometimes to think about all the negative things in our life. Now that we've been so busy lately, its been really easy for me to get wrapped up in all of the bad things in life. But as I'm sitting in my beautiful new yard and enjoying the views, I decided to take a deep breath and focus on how wonderful my life really is! I am blessed beyond belief and so thankful for it!! Here are some updates on our amazing journey...

KENNY-has been working for a wonderful man named John for the last several months and I think he's really enjoyed it. It gets him out of the house and he gets some extra cash out of it. His back is still bothering him but I think we've come to realize that the pain is never going to go away. It's taken a toll on Kenny emotionally. Being a man in your 30's and not being to do what other "normal" men can, is a real bruise to the ego. I try to remind him as often as I can that he is a AMAZING dad and that what is is doing; molding and shaping our kids in to these awesome little beings; is far better than any "normal" job out there!!

LEVI-started Kindergarten in September and seems to be enjoying it much better than last year. We decided to hold him back and give him another year to mature and its looking to be a good decision. He also is playing soccer through the boys and girls club and loves it! His favorite position is goalie and he is very good at it! I'm thinking about putting both the boys in swimming lessons after soccer season is over, got to keep that swimming legacy alive! :)

RILEY-has gotten so unbelievably big, I can barely remember him being a toddler or a baby! He is the same size as Levi; they share the same clothes and shoes! :) He practices with Levi at soccer practice but unfortunately can't play at any of the games. He is definitely our loud, outgoing child. I can see struggles ahead as he gets older..lol

TAYLOR-just turned 1 September 18th! That was the quickest year of my life, no doubt about that!! She is walking and babbling like crazy. She looks like Levi and I but has Kenny and Riley's personality..the teenage years should be very interesting!! She is very much a girl tho and loves to put on shoes and new clothes and usually can be found carrying around a purse!

ME-I have been busier than ever lately but its all to make my family better, so I wouldn't change too much! I went on a girls get away to Seattle a few weeks ago for my friend's 30th birthday party, and we had a blast!! It was a much needed trip away for all of us mommies!! :) I'm slowly getting adjusted to school and figuring out how to spend a little time for each activity in my life. I am Levi's soccer coach and that has been a experience. I will probably never coach a little league again but at least I can cross it off my life list! :) Until next time...

Hello Again...

So it's been a while! :) Where to start...hmmm? Well here's what I'm doing right now. I am of course a wife and mom..I'm also coaching Levi's soccer team. 8 six and seven years running around a field kicking a ball, its pretty entertaining! I am working 2 jobs, I'm a cook at A&W on the weekends and I am doing books for Valley View Trucking Shop. I just started school at the end of September. I am taking 12 credits and this term is more challenging than Summer term. I am taking Medical Terminology, Editing for Information Processing, Medical Orientation, Formatting, Keyboarding, and Window and Computer Fundamentals. Haha..that's a mouthful huh?! We also just moved..again! :) We have a awesome house, it has a beautiful view and is on a good size lot. Life is pretty good right now, very busy..but I wouldn't have it any other way! Whats new with you all?

My amazing family!

Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

August 2nd, 2010

What a crazy busy week! My mom and I made it through Jamboree weekend..we ended today with 13 trailers! I ended up selling my two 3 day passes and just went Friday night. Keith Urban put on a awesome show and I'm so glad I was able to go that one night.

School is almost out, just 2 more weeks of Summer term, then its a 6 week break until Fall term! I ended up just taking Reading and Writing this term, it was a nice easy start into my college beginning. Next term I am taking 15 credits, so I will have my work cut out for me! I have decided to change my major to a Medical Transcriptionist instead of a Medical Office Specialist, in hopes of working from home.

Taylor has starting walking around the house with her walker, its only a matter of time before she is walking on her own! She just cut 2 more teeth, poor baby really struggled with these two. Levi is gearing up for another round of Kindergarten! We decided to hold him back and put him through again..give him another year to mature a little. We are still deciding on whether or not to put Riley through preschool. He really wants to go, but I'm not sure I want to fork out the money!? I guess time will tell. Our puppy is adapting to us..or should I say we are adapting to him! :) We are working on potty training him and I think that is the most frustrating part with him. He'll get it soon I hope, if not, Kenny will be making him a permanent outside puppy.

Mine and Kenny's 8 year anniversary is at the end of this month! WOW! What a crazy, horrible, wonderful, amazing 8 years its been!!! We have been up and down..and back up and slammed back down. But through all of it, we have learned SO much and have landed in a perfect place. We are so happy right now, happier than we have ever been!! We have become each others best friends and have learned that it just about us and our kids. We are all we have and all we'll ever need! Kenny I think struggles at times with being a stay at home dad, but he does such a amazing job at it, I cant imagine him doing anything else. After I am done with school, we'll see what he decides to do. :)
